Reporting to the Track Lead / Team Lead for technical and operational activities
Helping team members in case of Technical/Operational Problems and Issues
Handling tickets/ Incidents, working with with third party vendor for elevated support.
Raising Change Requests for approvals and implementing the change accordingly
Ensuring that the processes are adhered to while working on any problem incident/change request
Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction by the way of quality in the day to day tasks
Suggesting new technologies and design changes as and when applicable
Applying patches/upgrades to maintain security level
Administering the commvault Management Console Server and command line exposure, Commvault Recovery Overview.
Disaster Recovery of a commvault Server, HDS commvault Performance Tuning.
Performing Cloning and Staging, Administering the commvault Server.
Knowledge of VTL (Configuration / Troubleshooting).
Configuring and Managing Standalone Devices (SILO / JUKEBOX).Required knowledge on Oracle, SQL, VADP, and NDMP backups.
Performing Migration between two different OS.
Working knowledge on Commvault simpana
IP Network, WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration (familiarity)
Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as using virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, data replication
Configuring, Maintaining NDMP backups for various NAS technologies
Configuring, Maintaining and Trobleshooting Database Backups
Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation .
Planning for Media rotation, Management and Offsite Movement
Scheduling of New Backups/ Modifiying existing Jobs, Performing Restores.
Backup Monitoring and Reporting Tool Installation, Troubleshooting Backup Failures.
Scripting / Automation of Minor Tasks
Installation, Configuration and Administration of commvault simpana
Configuring Multiplexing, Multistreaming and Disk Staging to optimize the Backup process
Administration and Optimization of Database Agents of Commvault Simpana on Exchange, SQL Servers.
SAN and NAS implementation of commvault e.g., NetApp, EMC-Clarion/Celera, HP
Administration and planning contribution to Disaster Recovery with Commvault for Windows and UNIX platforms.
Handle issues related to Commvault Catalog databases, Storage Units, Policies, SLP, De-Duplication, vStorage APIs etc'
Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal & Written)
Good documentation skills
Good working knowledge on MS OFFICE
Should have a good customer handling skills
Able to handle unforeseen situations
High level of acceptance
Other Skills / Experience
Should be worked on Production systems
Working Knowledge on Remedy or any other ticketing client
Should be familiar with ITIL processes
Other Backup skill set will be an Added advantage.
Good to have HDS Backup certified Professional certificate.
